[ Edited ]

Hey Sony Forums

I would like to ask is my friend permanently banned. The other day my friend '***********' got banned when he tried to log on for a competitive gaming tournament and when he logged on he received this message

  • Access to the PlayStation®Network by this account has been banned or temporarily suspended.

Does this mean his account is perm banned or temp banned???

Your friend should receive an e-mail regarding the circumstances of his ban within 48hrs. Otherwise contact Sony with the link below. This, being a community forum, is populated by gamers such as your friend and yourself.

Your friend should check their spam folder. Sony doesn't ban without sending an e-mail explaining why and how long.

Good advice in this thread. Follow it and check your spam folder for emails about it. These things don't happen without a reason.

What is up with all these friends getting banned? Furthermore, why can't any of these friends take care of their own business?  thinking.gif

That's a good theory.

But as far as I know, account bans on the PSN (not the forums) are pretty rare; they usually require some severe behaviour from the banned (extreme language, racism, sexism, cheating, hacking, etc), and, again, are pretty rare and are reserved for sever cases.

You should have recieved an email saying why you were banned and for how long. Checking spam is never a bad idea.
