Re: Favorite Old Game?

Feb 27, 2014

While not my favorite game, it is one of the many games I'd give grand preferential treatment toward. Resident Evil (the original) is a game I've played through many times. I'd take it back to the rental store again and again just to keep renewing and replaying through this masterpiece. It's insanely awesome, scary, and does everything right

Of course, Resident Evil might not have aged too well or been the best in certain categories to begin with, but I liked it that way to start. Having played through the 2001 remake was just weird by comparison. The actors sound more natural, which defies all logic (at least in Resident Evil's case). Smiley Wink

BLACK on PS2. Gun porn at it's finest, haha. That game was just really fun, my friends and I went nuts over it when we were 13.

Ratchet and Clank

Jak & Daxter

Destroy all Humans

Getting Older doesn't mean it's GAME OVER
It's a better idea to buy games for your PS4
Than to buy a New Console for your PS4

Re: Favorite Old Game?

For me it's easily Socom 1 and 2 because those two games had me playing every day for hours for their entire life cycles (online multiplayer portion). No other cosole games before or after have compelled me to come back to them as frequently as Socom did before the dev started butchering the franchise in the following games. But in case 2002/3003 isn't considered "old" yet to some I'll list my favorites on older systems that I remember not being able to put back down.

Nintendo- Castlevania

                    Shadowgate

                     Black Bass fishing

                     Mike Tyson's Punchout

Super Nintendo- Super Punchout

                                Zelda Link to the Past

                                 Tecmo Bowl

                                 Mortal Kobat 1 & 2

Sega Genesis- Evander Holyfield's Real Deal Boxing

                              NHL Hockey '93

                               Madden '92

Nintendo 64        WCW World Tour & Revenge

                               Zelda Orcania of Time

                              Super Mario World

                               007 Goldeneye

                                Mario Kart

Playstation       Resident Evil 2

                            Tekken
                             Grand Turismo

I could go back further to like Atari, Intellivision, Colecovision, etc. but Ill go on forever if I start mentioning every system and games I liked lol.

Sig: Socom 1 and 2 best games I've played on any console.

Definitely. Got to rent this one and I love it. Haven't been able to find a copy of it in stores though Smiley Sad. Draken: The Ancient's Gates, love this game. Fun to play and just a joy in regards to game play.

I still have LOK: Soul Reaver in the cellophane and thinking about opening and playing it now with the praise from you guys. It's one of the many games I bought while I was heavy into Socom thiking I would get to it one day but it just sat on the shelf unopened. Now that the Socoms servers are down I should go back and open some of the gems I missed out on.

Re: Favorite Old Game?

I couldn't pick one.. I could pick one above any other game sure... But there are many great old games.

Double Dragon, Pac-Land, Super Mario Bros, Contra, Super C, Contra: Alien Wars, (Okay I just like Contra), all the Mega Man games were great up to about 7 where it started getting too much and needed a break, Castlevania, Splatterhouse, Rygar (I'm aware it sucks, i like it though) Chrono Trigger, Earthbound (Mother if your outside US/EU) Super Mario Kart was awesome, doesn't hold up well though.

Moving into the next generation

Resident Evil 1,2,3, Survivor... I KNOW... I like it and it's horrible, Loaded, Pandamonium (Think it was called that, you play as a jester anyway) Fighting Force was awful but fun too.. probably the best game on the PS1 was Final Fantasy 7 though. Yeah. typical choice... I had limited time with the PS1 games though having only played them in a friends house back in those days. I did also get my hands on the wrestling games for PS1, None of them were that good.

Luckily I was a N64 owner.

Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Perfect Dark, Pilotwings, Excitebike, Doom, WWF No Mercy (Greatest wrestling game ever created) F-Zero X... There are loads more but I'm just generally forgetting them.

The best game I've played comes from the era after the N64 era, the Dreamcast/PS2/XBOX era...

Dreamcast game, may have seen me go on about it a few times. Shenmue. I could go on and on about it. It would get too long though,I'll leave that alone.

Do it! It's well worth it. The game play and story line will draw you right in.
