I think MVP's should have a standout color so it is easier to find them in threads, but I will leave the thinking to the pros.
Just a heads up. They are gone and Sony has no intent on bringing them back. They say it is to alleviate any confusion amongst new visitors for the expected PS4 wave of people showing up.
You will get to keep custom ranks/icons but no name colors.
I have a very staunch opinion on the matter but will leave it to you all to state how you feel about it first.
My opinion is this was a bad move. Want more as to why? Challenge my opinion and I'll debate you
Don't be afraid to join the debate Chesire and the other members of the CM staff either, not that you all plan on changing anything.

I like the new icons / colors. Although I do not have a problem with MVPs having a color name or not, I can understand why it was removed. I can see how it could be confusing to new members and they could possibly be mislead to believe MVP members are staff / employees. And It is important for (new) people to know who the Staff / Employees are for Sony and its third parties.
Current and active members already know who/what MVPs are -- MVPs know they're MVPs -- and I'm pretty sure they will continue to help with or without a colored name.
MVPs should be like the ones in EU, they have the same color as everyone else but their name is in a bold font.
that way they stand out but yet remain the same as a regular user.
but completely doing away with special colors for awards is silly. as long as the color isnt the same or too similar to the Managers and Mods it shouldnt be an issue.
bold + color/color = forum staff/forum staff
bold + no color = MVP
no bold + color = regular member special rank
Colored names was the best reward in special ranks.
I'm cool with this update, although not a fan of it, but the reasoning was rather poor. Well, MVP's red names could've been a little confusing and I wonder whether if MVPs got PM meant for moderators.
