The latest statement from Square-Enix on the subject was that they aren't going to do one until they make a "successful" new FF title. So in other words it probably will be a long time before that happens...

I also read on a interview that the free rome world and length of the game in up to date graphics would be more than a blueray disk could hold and it would take a massive amount of time to do. But man wouldn't it be nice.

Why the hell don't they just do the remake which everyone and their mama will get. And use the profit towards their next game. Maybe working on the classic will get them back in a good RPG mindset

fantasyplayer the map on ff7 is small compared to todays games. try going from one corner of the map to the other on fallout 3 or vagas you could go round the globe 10 on ff7 in the same time

I not sure about all of that but when they were interviewing the man that made ff7 that is what he said. Mabe it is true in it's ps1 format virses if it was made in todays graphics in ps3 format. I know that a lot that we use to be able to do in rpgs thay don't do anymore because it would take up so much space. At lest that is what they were saying in the interview. I miss flying around the world in a ship looking at all the places you have been in rpgs.

Given the way I felt about FF13, I don't really want them to remake FF7. They may say it is a matter of space, but I wouldn't mind having multiple discs, I certainly didn't mind it the first time. I just don't see the quality of the game staying with a remake.

An open mind is like a fortress with it's doors unguarded and unbarred

I think the same way. I wouldn't care if it was 3 or 4 disk again if they would make it. I dont think they would change it if they did it again because from what I read he don't think it is just a game, it is a work of art to hem. That's anoyher reasion he's not sure about a remake.
