External USB Music Player Idea

22 replies 67 views Edited May 2, 2009

I remember reading awhile back about how we would be able

to listen to our own music during game play. I have an idea that might help the recent

issues, and maybe the developer software issues. There would be a small USB receiver

with a separate remote that would control your music library externally along with a

firmware update. Second idea a USB device that could be attached to the controller.

Just like the key pad. It would be just like the side of a CD player with basic buttons

"play/pause/stop/next/previous" If you think about it... the "Controller Add On" would

work quicker then using the XMB screen (faster then the others because you wouln't have

to pause the game to change the song)

The way I got around it is by buying the Sony Brava 1000watt home

theater system all with optical audio and hdmi and listening to music

on that while i have my Sony Brava 52 LCD playing the in game sounds

but i thought of this idea awhile ago and figured Sony could benefit from

this thread and to look out for all the guys and gals who can't afford a

expensive stereo

Yup, by him.

Cobra locked it. So he took out the "otherbox" mentions and reposted it.
Miss me? Come say hi over at my new programming project page, Retro-Pixel Castles.
Hopefully coming to Steam in 2015!

If you really do research on it... it may be Sony's only options...either that or they pay the other guys a whole lot of money.......no way.....thats part of the reason i made this thread

you arent offering a device, just an idea.

patent an actual device and you may be on to something.

Way to complicated.

This way is much easier:

  1. Hook mp3 player to surround sound.
  2. Hook PS3 audio direectly to TV
  3. Enjoy your music and your in-game sound at same time.

No external players, no firmware updates and no software updates.  Guaranteed to work flawlessly, everytime.
