ok i think i might have figured it out.  if you are going wireless go manual but the only thing u want to select on the is the wireless connection and the password (if used) and for the settings choose no proxy settings no upnp and the rest just do automatic it should correct the problem by itself cause what happens is when u connect the ethernet cable it tends to lock the settings so u have to go back and reset them by using the manual settings try it out i just used it cause i was having the problem today

Today my ps3 starting acting up badly. I can log in without any problems, but if i try to ply a game online, they tell me to log into psn. But im already logged in!?! If they're not tellin me to log in, it says "couldnt connect to host". And this is wit every game. Sony gave me free ps+ a month ago and i've been plying all the ps+ free games. But this only started happening wen i downloaded "Payday: The Heist". Now im havin pronlems with all my games. And when i try to turn my Ps3 off, it dont want to trun off. It'll go to the Xmb instead of turning off. And if im already at my Xmb and i try to turn my ps3 off, it'll just restart. Crazy story, huh people. Someone plz tell me whats the problem wit my ps3!. My ps3 cant break on me right now cuz Ac3,blk ops 2, and far cry 3 is sooo close. Not to mention the almighty "GTA V". Although its comin out next year..

Hiyya who can help me I buyed a ps3 the over day set up everthink then clickedd on the settings and it logged me out of everthink and now whn I try to get back in and sigh up for new on line thing but it comes up with ( a connection to the network could not be estabished. Go to (settings) > (network settings) and check your settings then it comes up with lots of stuff to do ( and here is my errer code “80130182” cud u help me with this plz I was on line the over day and. Now it won't let me on but it let's me play games can u plz help me sort this out thank?x

Make sure your correct password for Playstation is in your new Playstation 3 machine, You may have to inter New user name and ask Playstation network for a new password. I've had this problem before myself. I hope this help's you! Good luck.

I have been experiencing this error code problem today. For error codes 80710102 and 80130182. I could not sign into psn or use the browser on my ps3. I tried repairing the file system, this did not work. I tried restoring system default settings and re-setting up the internet connection. This also did not work. I managed to get around this by totally restoring the system. This may seem a bit over the top. But I always keep a backup of my system on a seperate harddrive with all my saved game data and other stuff on.

Once i had restored the system the internet connection worked fine and i was able to sign into psn without any problems. And now i am just restoring the system using my back up harddrive. All works well. Hope this helps others out.

I would reccomend always keeping a back up of your system on an external harddrive from a time that you know your ps3 is fully working. Its very helpful if you ever have a problem like hdd failure or if you ever need to return the system to default.
