Not certain but almost all free games have some type of DLC that is nothing new but I can't say whether this is limited or not I don't think it is. It is probably more like Jet Pack Joyride where of course there is DLC but it is not needed technically to progress in the game it just helps you progress faster.

Ecolibrium is an app, not a game. Therefore it doesn't work on the same principle as PSM games. Everything you can do in the app, you can do for free. No strings attached~.

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/09/12/ecolibrium-launches-today-on-ps-vita-completely-free-to-downl...

"As with just about any free-to-play title Ecolibrium will also have a micro-transaction system in place. Players will be able to purchase “Game Boxes”, each one housing a handful of items that will help speed up progress."

http://www.justpushstart.com/2012/09/ecolibrium-ps-vita-review/

"At the beginning of the game, it can be quite difficult completing the challenges because most of the plants and animals aren’t available yet. To get new animals or plants, you have to do one of the following three things: complete challenges in the game successfully, purchase the DLC or have a 3G PS Vita console to “find” new animals in the game."

So yea there are things you can purchase for the game but the same can be achieved just by playing it for free, just will take longer.

That doesn't sound terrible, certainly nothing like PSM games. The EU blog didn't mention those things back then, not that it'd have deterred me from wanting to try it~.

Well if it is anything like Frobisher chances are none of those things will be released with it as soon as it comes out. DLC and stuff probably will come out later, we still have not gotten trophies for Frobisher yet.. I think Ecolibrium has trophies also but who knows if the NA one will come with those either.

Either way I am excited for this app, I love these types of games like Spore. Hopefully it turns out to be good.

It certainly looks interesting, so for free, I'll give it a shot.

Just a question though - what if we don't have 3G? Can we not capture animals unless people put it up on Near? I never use Near.

Visit your local store and grab some Pokeballs. You can catch em' all that way.

But yeah, sucks it doesn't fly for wifi.
