Easter Eggs: Filler or Fun?

I fall on the side of fun. I enjoy searching for the little pieces of other games or popular culture. To be honest I wish more games would trough in Easter Eggs.

i honestly think easter eggs are more for the enjoyment of developers putting pop culture references in their creations.

to this day, my favorite easter egg is in AC:Brotherhood, where a peasant next to the Castillo Deanglo is doing the Party Rock Dancing.

Depends what they are. If it's a Marvel comics related game I like seeing all the other references.

I think it depends on what they are. Sometimes they can be hilarious like the 360/Wii reference in Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Other times, it's like "Meh...." like the guy buried in the sand with his head sticking out in Far Cry 3.

I feel like that Far Cry 3 one was more of a "wink-wink" kinda egg, for those who were familiar with the story behind it. Far Cry also had great refrences to Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Portal, as well as that awesome Modern Warfare one that made me lol.

I'd like to add that the Ozzy Osbourne reference in Fallout 3 was awesome too (Mr. Crowley)

Easter eggs are definitely fun. I can't recall ever seeing a bad Easter Egg.

But I should probably warn you, if i don't get the reference, its not an Easter Egg Smiley Very Happy

I liked the Minecraft Easter Egg in Borderlands 2.  It also gave you a Minecraft skin for your avatar. Smiley Very Happy
