Drive Club Director, "No forced Micro-Transactions like other Racing games"

12 replies 204 views Edited Apr 10, 2014

DriveClub Design Director Paul Rustchynsky has confirmed on Twitter that the game won’t feature forced microtransactions, that impact the progress of players in the game.

On Twitter, Paul Rustchynsky shared the review of the latest Trials Frontier on smartphones, which apparently featured forced microtranscations impacting the experience of players in the game. I decided to ask him about DriveClub, and whether it will feature any sort of microtransactions or not. Paul Rustchynsky replied back with a simple “Absolutely” confirming their intentions that they don’t plan to include them in DriveClub.

Thank goodness, there's hope we'll get a decent racing game this year.

"[F]orced" means that there WILL be microtransactions though.

I can totally aesthetic changes costing money as well as buying a new car. I can't see them giving the game on PS+ with all the cars. There's probably going to be some other optional jobs that you might have to pay to open up, but I sure hope not.

I hate when games started to be like pay to win Smiley Sad. All we want is challenges that reward us with great awards that make us feel good about winning something but nowadays every body can buy and surpasses the challenges Smiley Sad

To clarify it even more -

"To be clear on microtransactions, DRIVECLUB will of course offer content to purchase/download. But there will not be any ‘consumables’."

So unlike The Crew, there is No pay to win or purchasable part upgrades , only aesthetics/looks.

If you have to pay to compete with the Plus version that would be fine. You are getting a Free game anyway.

Paying customers should get the good stuff and not have to pay again.

Someone should have asked when the game is coming though.

At least F1 2014 is coming this year I guess.. Smiley Indifferent
