Downloading classics on the Ps3

Greetings, are the classics only downloadable for the Vita or can you as well for the Ps3 ? Seems like I only see an option for the Vita .

Thank you .

Which classics? All PSOne Classics work with PS3, and the majority work with Vita. PS2 Classics only work on PS3.

All PSOne games work with PS3. I'm assuming you are using the PlayStation Store on your PS3?

Maybe you already have an answer but if not. I know that, while they have most of the older (PS1 ports) Final Fanasy's for PS3, the Final Fantasy 4 game download is only for psp, there's not one for PS3 at this time. ( I hope they will soon, I prefer to play @ home. Little use for portable/handheld. )

No, sorry should have been more clear from the start lol, my bad . I'm buying a Ps3 here soon since they are coming out with a new Ps3 console, bigger hard drive I guess . I was just looking from my Pc about the classics and make sure they are available for download through the Ps3 but I didn't see that option, only for the handheld one . So I guess you have to have the Ps3 and go through the store from there first ? is that correct ?

Yes. The store in Media Go (or whatever they call it nowadays) only shows products for the PSP, and only the PSP. Everything PS3 related can only be accessed via the store on the PS3.

This is basically true, but if content is on both systems (like PS1 classics) they can of course be purchased from MediaGo.

Also, the FF4 game on the PSN is not the PS1 classic, it is the PSP "Complete Collection," so it won't work on PS3.  All PS1 classics work on PS3, as you said earlier.
