My undestanding is that you can download PS+ Vita games to a PS3 if you don't have space on your Vita memory card as to not miss out on some free games. How is this done exactly? And then how do I get a game from my PS3 to my Vita?

If yougo online the PlayStation Store on your PS3 you will see a section for PS Vita. From there you can buy games or get them free. It will have a download button and it will put them on your PS3. When your ready to put them on your Vita, just plug in the USB cable and go to contant manager. You can send Vita games and saves between the 2 systems.
Awesome. Thank you.
You can use a PS3 like that, but you don't have to do that. The other ways are:
You can buy PS Vita games on the PS Vita store, and just cancel download.
If you do buy a PS Vita game on PS3, you don't have to download it there, you can download it on your PS Vita directly when you are ready for it. You PS Vita Store has your accounts Download List on the bottom right "..." touch to find it.
You can also go to the PC PSN store and buy your PS Vita content there. You can "send" it to your PS Vita at any time from that site, also you can access your games in the Download List on your PS Vita, just like always.
Your PSN digital games can be downloaded infinite times onto your activated devices for that PSN ID. So when you want it download it, delete it, download it another time, delete, and on and on and on.
