Do you think we'll see more cross-platform playability?

20 replies 15 views Edited Jul 19, 2005
Do you think that, in this next generation of consoles, we'll see more games that we can play accross platforms (like how the FFXI PC version can play the PS2 version), so for example Bob with Burnout 5 and a PS3 can play Tom with Burnout 5 and an Xbox 360?

Just thought I'd get people's opinions.

Well that's not actually true - they only need to know how to contact eachother and have the same data transfer between them

That would be cool.  Not quite fair (since one console might have a better controller for whatever game than the other), but fun nonetheless.

I've always thought that they should do something like that.

MMORPG's are one thing though... there's no real advantage to playing on one system over the other.,

Highly unlikely. What would differentiate one console over the other? Never gonna happen. Live intertnet structure would be a lot different than Sony Online.,

Doesn't matter as long as the LIVE servers can contact the SONY servers

I'd think that we would see it with EA games first. They already did it with NFSU with PS2-PC play, but the PC version got hacked, so if you were on PS2 you were kind of screwed.,
