I think that the answer is NO!
I mean the only PS Vita related feature they said was Remote Play. They did mention that the PS Vita would be the perfect companion for the PS4 and so there may be a chance for them to introduce more tie ins, but come on!!! Is that all you could do!? Remote Play!? You promised that with the PSP for the PS3 and that turned out GREAT! (sarcasm)
Seriously, there was immense potential here for them to make something that makes the PS Vita very valuable for the PS4. If they made it such that the PS Vita extends the console by using its screen, features etc. to extend the gameplay of PS4 games, that would have been nice. AND if we assume that they will eventually have such features when the console is out, then why not talk about it now!? It would only do the PS Vita good to announce such features... The Vita can take any kind of boost right now! Sheesh. Highly disappointed by the lack of any significant Vita related features in the PS4..
There are some interesting features in the PS4, the ability of your friend to remotely take over gameplay, sharing feature, instant playability of downloading games as it is downloading... Still I doubt there is one Killer feature.. Hope they release some awesome feature with the Vita.
What do you guys say?

Cool feature to have but it's pretty obvious the mass doesn't care for remote play.
The only way the Vita can uplift itself is to have it's own, unique games that aren't quick port jobs or some cash grab.Remote play with the ps4 in any way alone won't help the system that much.
But hey,who knows,i may end up eating a crow if the ps4 barrens well and causes some magic turnaround for the Vita.

I am not quite sure it did much to uplift the PS4 over the current PS3... First off, didn't even provide a glimpse of the console itself...
However let's say they have left the reveal of the console and the price point(s) for E3 or some event down the road... I just didn't feel the big splash tonight that made me go wow...
The whole event felt old and spent like we have seen this all before... Just wasn't a lot of splash and sorry the drop that both Blizzard and Bungie are going to come on board with the Sony product is good I guess but again it seemed as though the PS4 announcement slipped off into an abyss about half way through...
Furthermore Cloud gaming still has a long way to go...
I feel the Vita needs to stand on it's own... So I would say NO, not very much in the way of the PS4 announcement uplifted the Vita today... However, I am fine with that...

Actually- Remote Play was a SPU process that many developers just never wanted to give away.
In other word's remote play was developer preferred not console forced. If the developer put some resources aside or work the game around giving the player the option to play games via remote play, it would be developer dependant on if they want the Remote Play to work (keep in mind, it required one spu to be sacrificed for the Remote Play feature to work.
The PS4 will have Gaikai built into the consoles - in lamens term's, Sony now doesn't give a **** if a developer want's their game to have remote play or not. The PS4 itself has chip's and features set aside for remote play to work with the Vita ALONE with no say from the developer whatsoever. Remote Play with the PS4 is solely dependant on the console this time around and not "by request or time" via the developer.
That is a the difference between the PS3 (developer dependant) vs the PS4 (Sony Console set aside feature NOT developer dependant) but I'm sure people glazed that info over as soon as they mentioned remote play...

I think this is the best way for the Vita to be even more enticing than it is currently for current and possible customers. The Vita has taken quite a bit of slack from game review companies. Unfortunately, this is due to the idea that each and every PS Vita title should be comparable to it's PS3 counterpart in graphics or gameplay. There is some mistakes from Sony for advertising it like so, but the general gamer should understand the Vita is an excellent gaming device that easily differntiates itself from cellular and 3DS gaming. I personally love my PSVita, and there are more than enough games for me (PS One and my new additions to my Vita library).
However, the turnaround for year two begins with a promising collection of games, which at E3 is what I am expecting from Sony. If they still believe in that 10 year product lifecycle, the Vita has the potential to be an absolutely fantastic product with quality titles in the future.

The PSP had 16MB of ram, the PS3 has 256MB, do you really expect the PSP to be able to play such games?
If the PS4 optimally plays on a 4k tv, then that is 1/16th the size of the Vita resolution, which DOES work(8GB of ram, versus 512MB of Ram in the Vita)
The Wii U has the same issue as the Vita right now, slow releases in games.

I agree there wasn't much punch to the release. Excepting for a few novel social features and a few PSN related features that seem to leverage the Gaikai system, there wasn't much towards the wow factor! A bit dissapointing. They didn't show the console because clearly they didn't finish the product yet. It is clearly still being finalized and I doubt the whole casing of the PS4 is fixed either. They just wanted to create a buzz.

I didn't expect PSP to be able to play such games, but anyway, it only streams the game, right? It doesn't run it locally. Anyway, my point stands. With regard to PS Vita and PS4 tie ins, they didn't introduce anything more novel than what they did with the PSP...

Basically, my worst fear came true. Sony will try to sell the PSV as a peripheral rather than a true standalone console. Also, this goes to show people who quotes Hirai that they do go back on their word. Now go and quote him about saying that they wouldn't announce first~.
Ha! Come on! Even Sony isn't that dumb to market the PSV as simply a peripheral. It is a full fledged console and Sony will always focus on that. At best, this thing can be treated as an added perk of owning a PS4 and PSV, and perhaps compel more people to buy it to gain additional features to their PS4.
If Sony markets it as a peripheral only, then that would be an even bigger failure than anything. And surely it will sell even worse then, because who wants a $200 peripheral for a $400-500 PS4??
