Delete Everything off PS3

24 replies 8466 views Edited Aug 13, 2008

Ok, so I have a 40 gig.  I have information on there and I know how to back it all up.  If I return the PS3 back to the store (within 30 days) how do I delete EVERYTHING on there so that none of my accounts or saved data is on there....

do I need to erase my profile?

format the drive?

restore back to factory default settings?

I have searched but did not come up with specific threads.

NO profile, NO saved data, nooooooo nothing!

Do a system restore?

I'm sure you can find something in the part of the XMB.

I think if you format it, it might work. I'm not sure.

After that I would just make sure that there is nothing on tracing back to you.  See if your login info is still there.  It's always good to double check

First go into account management and erase your credit card information, I always do this after I buy something. Then reformat it or do a system restore. That should do it.
