Deactivating account

8 replies 241 views Edited Jan 28, 2013

I recently had the YLOD and I sent my ps3  to Sony and they told me to deactivate my online account which I did. Then a few days later they sent me a new ps3 and that doesn't work turns off after a hour or 2. So I rang them up again and they said to deactivate my account again and will send you another ps3. So I tried to to deactivate and it says I can't. So the question is does anyone know why?

Not sure what to tell you then.  If you deactivated your PS3 systems and then went on the current PS3 to activate it, it should work.  If not call Sony and explain you already did the above step and it's still not working.

Only other thing i can think of is you said that the current PS3 you got was from Sony as a replacement right?  Maybe who ever had the system last didnt deactivate it and that may be why...  again not really sure tho.  Sorry i couldnt offer better info to help you out

Also if i remember correctly that site will only let you deactiavte systems once every 6 months.  That may also be the cause is that you already used that site before to deactivate the previous system and now there's a time limit on it.

At least i remember something about a time limit in the past, but maybe they changed that.... not sure.
