[ Edited ]

Does your DS4 analog stick starts to peel off a bit ?

Playing fifa14 for awhile.

Came to realize that the left analog stick peel off a tiny bit.

Tiny bits came off a bit.

I have not. Its molded plastic there should be no coating on the sticks that can peel off. Didnt have anything nasty on your hands and then touch the controller did you?

Hmm nope fingers were clean.
Hopefully it's the initial layer of the molded plastic that peel off.
Usually once it got seasoned , should be okay right.

Well the OP actually has a point.

I had thought people were just heavily abusing their controllers when I saw pictures of people with peeling analog sticks.

But now that I look at my controller, I see that the left analog stick does have a few "cracks" as if it is peeling off.

I also noticed that at the base of the analog system, some lightly colored residue was building up (probably material rubbing off the analog stick, since it wiped away and was black on my finger)

It is a known issue with the controller, a lot of people have mentioned it. Most of the people here brushed it off as "SABOTAGE" or users being stupid or something. Clearly that isn't the case.

I guess since it isn't doing it to everyone there is some sort of issue with the rubber on a couple of batches of the controller. Hopefully it get sorted out on the newer ones. Smiley Mad

That always happens from the sticks. Just the result of the sticks being rubbed against the controller shell.

I first saw this with my Atari 2600's joystick decades ago, and again with the N64 controller.

As for the rubberized coating on the sticks themselves.... theres no telling why some people are having issues with them. Mine are perfect.
