Didn't even know we were receiving the Crackle App here in the U.S., so this is a heads up to anyone that didn't know.

I'd love to try it, if my PS Store would update.

I cheated and made a Canada account so that I could get the Crackle app back when it was for "Canada Only". I gotta say the the movies on the Crackle app are much clearer than they are in the PS3 browser.

What kills me is that Crackle is owned by Sony. So far the 360, Droid and IPhone got it years, months before the PS3? How is that? Sony has their priorities so backwards. Would MS make an amazing app that has free TV and Movies and release it for the PS3 and then the mobile devices and then years later on the 360?
I constantly have to ask myself, "What were you thinking Sony?" It's bad enough the "Ridge Racer, riiiidge racer" guy is now in charge of Sony."
Let's face it that American CEO of Sony everyone loves to hate did amazing things from 09 to 2011. He completely changed the view that the PS3 is an elitist console and like the father of the Playstation first said when the PS3's price was first announced that we should get a second job to get the PS3?
Now he is gone and you go and sue Kevin Butler ? You release a high priced handheld no one is buying? You completely change the PS Store to where the average consumer needs a walkthrough to figure out and IGN even made a walkthrough which that should tell you thats not a good start!
A lot of the new games coming to Home are because of that American CEO's plans. Sony now is going back to pre 2009 to where Sony had very few real exclusives and went to last place in this console war.
Oh yeah and screw Ridge Racer btw racing games don't sell as well!

Technically Crackle was accessible for quite some time through the web browser, and then through PS Home. Not the most ideal situation, but since it was already "supported" it probably delayed the development of a proper App.
You also have to remember that, unlike Microsoft and Nintendo, Sony is a big company with many varried divisions. The division responsible for Crackle was probably prioritizing trying to get their brand represented on as many platforms as possible, and like I said for all intents and purposes the PS3 was already "supported". I do agree it is unfortunate that it took this long to make a proper App.
FYI, the PS3 is actually in 2nd place worldwide. It may be in 3rd place in the US, but the PS3 sells better than the X360 in both Japanese and European markets...
