Cracked PS4? Need help!

22 replies 1267 views Edited Dec 4, 2013

unnamed.jpg I was cleaning my PS4 the other day and I happened to notice this mark/crack. I thought it was a crack at first but noticed how it didn't bend or anything as I pressed down on it. I want to believe that it's supposed to be there due to the fact tat it's right at the corner of the PS4. I have treated my PS4 with the utmost care and it would suck if I happened to get a PS4 with a defect. It's not that big of a deal and I'll get over it I just hate that even when I handle things with care I always notice something wrong. Does anyone elses PS4 have this mark? Please help me figure out what it is. P.S. This is my first time creating a topic with pictures. Sorry if it looks weird and uneven!

Do you live alone and know nothing else happened to it?  By the looks of it, it doesn't look that bad or anything that it will cause issues with the system but if you truly believe it came like that you could prob contact customer service.

I dont see anything like that on mine.

If its just a scratch, I would not go through the hassle of an exchange personally and it is unlikely they would anyway.

I was using a microfiber cloth to just remove the dust and stuff.

I think it is a scratch because i put a little pressure and didn't feel any movement. I wouldn't send it back just for a scratch anyways but if it was a crack I think I would try and have it replaced. Thanks for the picture!

I live with my grandmother and I know for a fact that no one has touched it besides me. I may call cutomer support and see what I can do and if they would be able to get a replacement for me failry quickly. If not then it honestly isn't that big of deal. I am just puzzled because I have no idea how that could have happened. I assumed it was meant to be there to maybe connect one part of the PS4 to the other if that makes seanse, but another member posted a photo and his doesn't have a mark. Thanks for the input!

It was probably done during assembly and has been there all along. In your excitement to get it, you did not notice.

If it was me, I would simply game on.

Yeah, because if it's just cosmetic and it's running good then why chance getting one that could potentially have mechanical problems? Just sayin'. Smiley Wink
