Changing PSN username/creating a new account

3 replies 197 views Edited Jan 22, 2013

Hi all

A friend of mine (yes, I know, but it is true) got a PS3 at Xmas. The very first time he tried to play online (Tiger Woods), he's managed to enter his online code as his username. He'd like to change it, instead of being known as 4TB37Hy29PHs4 or whatever he is, from now on.

A quick search of this forum and I found out that he can't change his name, but he can create a new account.

My question is, if he creates a new account, would he still be able to play Tiger Woods online, or would he prompted for the code again - at which point it would tell him it had already been redeemed?

Any help appeciated.

Cheers

You have nothing to lose by trying - the original account will remain active, so if you can't play on the new account, you can always go back to the old one for that game.

** Use a unique password for your PSN ID - one you don't use anywhere else **
** Engage brain before putting mouth in gear ** ** two-step verification - use it **

If it works by an activation key, as long as it's installed, he should be able to play online. As the user said above, it's worth a shot.
