Not to mention they're not going to give you online storage for free (unless it's advertisement-supported like Gmail/Hotmail etc.) because operating and maintaining terabyte servers and paying for their bandwidth is expensive.
The whole "aging" idea is a joke. The Cell is going to magically extract resolution out of your DVD movies? All it is is upconverting -- my parents' DLP does upconverting on the fly, so does my DVD player. Big deal, it doesn't bring a noticeable increase in image quality.
The ONLY thing that is a major drawback is the tranfer for in game stuff(new maps etc).
Maybe they have something in mind. Who knows.
Other than that it could and would most likely be limited by your connection speed.
Mine is not 1MG. Thats dogass slow......
As far as the "aging" thing I need more info on it before I can argue the technology behind it.
I have a nice connection at work that gets about 5 megabytes/sec from fast servers (like google.com), but it probably costs the company thousands per month.

The advertised speeds are in bits, i'm talking bytes. My 4 Megabit Cable (which is above average) transfers at around 600 kilobytes per second.

Im not sure what broadband service your talking about.
Most people 500 kilobytes/sec?
The extreme low end in broadband now is 384/500 and I would hardly call that most people.
Most people are likely to be in the cable group and thats above 500.
Standard now in DSL is more like 1-1.5 down and .5 up. Cable is higher.
All broadbands are on the rise with speeds.Message Edited by Adirondack1 on 07-03-2005 01:23 PM

In the case of a movie recorded in standard definition, aging can mean adding fine details to the video in order to upconvert it to a high definition clip.,,,"We have many plans," comments Kutaragi, "Cell Storage is something we definitely intend to offer."

Could it be possible for someone to hack your cell storage, and just take your game saves and what not.

I didnt say the 'Cell Storage' was for gamesaves, i said it was for personal information like usernames, passwords, friends list, account details, emails etc. but if you were to play a MMORPG you could save you progression onto the Cell Storage because to play MMORPG you would need a internet connection...

If X360 people dont have online then people cant use the X360 online CRAP.
,
If they cant use the Cell Storage then they will just use Memory Sticks for gamesaves simple as and the 80GB HDD for media... If you want to play online then you will get a internet connection and use the Cell Storage same goes for X360, the reason to have a gamertag is for online gaming so if havent got online gaming then you dont need a gamertag do you?
