Can't get ps3 to stop updating(over and over again)

5 replies 179 views Edited Nov 23, 2011

Had some problem last time I played a game, some moth ago. I thought it was the game, but maybe it was the maschine. When i tried to start the ps3 today, I got the message:"The system software cannot be run correctly. Press the PS button to try to restart the system” I downloaded the update to a flashdrive, and everyting seems to work trough the prosses. it updates 100% and then restarts. Then I get a messege from my tv:"mode is not supported" I plug out the powercable, then restart, and I get the same message:"The system software cannot be run correctly. Press the PS button to try to restart the system”. Anyone know what I should do?

Sounds like the HDD is shot. I hope you had back ups.

try reformatting the hdd through a computer.
