This gen can be easily skipped w/ a decent 800 - 1000 bucks PC, most people excuses are that PC are too expensive but they don't realize a PC it's not just for gaming, a PC you build yourself would cost you an arm and a leg from HP and what if you didn't want liquid cooling, I can build a 1500 dollar PC using a i7 3770K which can be overclocked and a GTX 780, that's like 3 times more powerful than the PS4, LOL and for some reason Nvidia is trying to get me onboard with their updates lately LOL, if Nvidia drop their prices that would be it for consoles, I'm still going to buy aPS4 if they don't screw everything up like MS just because of the exclusive games, the new controller touchpad and also because I have a feeling PS4 may be able to support gameplay at 4K resolution in the future but not for every game, hopefully by the year 2017 4K TVs are affordable like HD TVs are now.

Why am I gonna spend 1500 just to play video games

if I decide to purchase a PC anytime I'd rather build it myself, specially knowing my PC CPU temps are getting to like 160 degree F when uncompressing just couple of rar files which takes like forever, I'm scared of it dying right now I even ordered a heatsink, this PC is only useful as a PC for me and if I were to buy a new PC, Why not build it myself? That's the problem with you people when thinking about building a gaming PC, you all seems to forget it will be a fast PC also and very useful if you go to school and also if you like to do video editing or just record your gameplay, it's not only going to be for games, it's not a console that would cost you $1500, my PC it's like 5 years old and it cost me around $700 back then not including the monitor, I regret not building it myself due to the fact any $150+ graphics card now would of get me playing current gen games and a $200+ would get me playing next gen games and it would still be upgradeable, I don't want to have to spend that much money at this moment because I want to get the most out of this PC but if Sony and MS fail to get gamers what they want which are the 2 biggest gaming industries, what choices do I have, I don't want to stick with my PS3 for this entire console generation.

Those 3 things I mentioned about the PS4 are the only things keeping me from buiding my Gaming PC.

$200 would get you a pretty crappy Video card.....

I guess if you went with a cheaper Radeon video card instead of the superior Nvidia...

Here is a i think 1 year old Nvidia Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130787

$400 but it will last a VERY long time

And pair it with this BRAND new i7 4770K 3.5Ghz processor and holy crap here comes the 125 Frames Per second.

I will not fall for their marketing ploy. calling the ONE is simply to make people fall into the trap of attributing the good connotation of being "the one" onto the Xbox "one" (the ONE thing they want in your living room)

Becuase they will be in 4K and 4K monitors will be much cheaper then 4K TV, better grahpics, mods and since you can not buy or use used games with next gen anyway 1500 would be a nice slap in the face. $1500 is high end you can do with a $600-800 build it yourself PC.

4K still requires A LOT of processing, which means you're likely not going to get a smooth framerate on a game at maxxed settings....

Even the GTX Titan in 2-way SLI can barely get a steady 30fps at 4k resolutions on Crysis 3 at Ultra settings with filters enabled.

4K resolution also, does not directly correlate to "better graphics" simple because you're limited by the GPU.

You're NEVER going to see any benefit of 4K on a small screen that is less than 40", with the average PC monitor being 26" or so....

My roomate has a dedicated 4K monitor for the video she edits..... I played BioShock Infinite on it.... and on my own PC rig and theres ZERO difference.
The only thing you'll pick up is a slightly expanded field of view.

Fact is, unless your eyes are glued to the screen, there is no need for a small 4K screen. When your screen is at least 60", then you'll get the benefit of a 4K screen.

When you run higher resolutions, you use A LOT more of your GPU and system RAM for texture memory which doesn't leave a whole lot for other processes that the GPU and CPU will need to do, so thats why you have to scarifice graphical detail and quality for processing power the higher the resolution you go.
