Battery life not bad...

28 replies 15 views Edited Dec 21, 2011

PS Vita battery lasts 4,5 hours with 3G and Wi/Fi on

Not a bad result actually.

A guy from NeoGAF forums made PS Vita’s battery test and the results are quite better than expected. The device lasted 4 hours and 29 minutes of gameplay. For comparison, majority of today’s laptops can only last a couple of hours of intense usage, smartphones can’t live any longer than a few hours of 3D gaming too.

Settings that were kept on test:
3G – on
WiFi – on
Bluetooth – off
Brightness – Maximum
NEAR auto updates – on
Headphones volume – 50%
Game – Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

original link (http://iamportable.com/ps-vita-battery-lasts-45-hours-with-3g-and-wifi-on/) who know's if this is actually true (in that I feel that it's a fanboy website). This isn't a concern because it's like i won't be away from a outlit or a computer for a while. I don't mind playing my Vita at home so that's why.

It's going to be less battery life for me because I plan on using bluetooth headphones with volume maxed. It's a good thing I preordered the portable battery charger too.

Thats good to hear, its very reassuring, even though it might have been stretched a bit. Im still getting the external battery, which i would assume lasts longer since the battery lasts longer on the vita.

That's good news, but with my PSP most of my games would be okay, but then I'd play something like God of War Chains of Olympus and it'd drain in about half the time it'd take to drain if I were playing something like Wipeout.

that seems kind of dissapointing considering that the original psp had a longer battery life :/

This was already tested out with a psp 3000, vita and a 3ds.

Vita = 3 hours 25 minutes

3ds= 2 hours 30 minutes

psp 3000 = 9 hour 35 minutes.

all while playing games.

The battery life is not so bad with everything you use.

Yep, test was done with highest settings possible. So 3 hours 47 minutes (my bad) is actually a lot of game time. How many times are you actually going to be playing for 3 hours away from home.

I play for more than 4 hours away from home almost everyday =). That's one of the main reasons I bought the portable charger to make sure I always have enough battery to continue playing.

you could buy the car charger and you will save money instead of buying the battery
