Batman Arkham Asylum City

7 replies 129 views Edited Jul 31, 2012

Hello everyone,

After watching the dark knight, I have the urge to play some batman games! I searched all over online for used copies of older batman games and found these two that fits my budget.

1. http://keepthepricereal.com/ads/batman-arkham-city-ps3/

2.http://keepthepricereal.com/ads/batman-arkham-asylum-game-of-the-year/

My question is, should I buy both? Do I need the first one in order to know whats going on in the second one? Any tips on if the price is good?

Thanks everyone!

You need to play Arkham Asylum before Arkham City. Yes.

It's good to have played Arkham Asylum, before Arkham City. However as far as the story goes you really are not missing that much. I would wait a while and get the Arkham City GOTY edition when it's a little lower, around the 30 dollar price range.  In the mean time get Arkham Asylum GOTY edition it's around 20 bucks new or cheaper if you can find it elsewhere. Both are really great games.

I believe Arkham City GOTY will be $30 at gamestop starting tomorrow.  The ad just says $20 off, but it's currently $50, so...

You don't need the first to understand the second game, however both are outright great, especially if you're a big Batman fan. Definitely a couple of my top 5 this generation.

I own both games and loved them. Even if you're not hugely into the Batman universe (comics, movies, shows) they're just top-quality games and worth playing. The voice-acting is some of the best ever in a video game, imho.

Out of the two I did enjoy Arkham Asylum more than City but they're both great titles.

Do the GOTY games come with everything on disc or is there a voucher?

Cause if there is a voucher then it probably won't do you good if you buy a used copy of Arkahm Asylum, http://www.amazon.com/Batman-Arkham-Asylum-Greatest-Playstation-3/dp/B003C1I06U/ref=pd_sim_vg_1 amazon has it cheap though.

To me getting Arkahm City GOTY for $50 it's worth it, so much content and you are getting one of the greatest games of last year. If you don't care about the extra stuff then do buy the regular edition new since it comes with the Catwoman stuff.

I'm not sure about Asylum, but Arkham City GOTY has the content on disc (the movie, Batman Year One, is a code, though).  As I mentioned it is $30 new at Gamestop, so I  picked it up today Smiley Happy.
