I bought Bad Company 2 when it came out and was able to play online fine up until last friday. But now when I go to "play now" and click "join" it goes to "searching for games. please stand by" then goes to "joining" but after about 15 seconds it says "connection to the game server has been lost. please check your network connection and try again." Well I've been to every site imaginable to try and fix this problem. Set my DMZ on the router to match the ps3. Set port forwarding to all of the required ports. But I still get this message. Every so often (about once every 100 attempts) it will join a game. Does anyone know if this is just an EA problem right now because of servers overloading? Because clearly other people are able to play online right now except for me.
Mine seems to be working OK for the time being. I don't get the message anywhere near as often as I used to. Ever since the software update v1.01 came out it has been working OK.
How is your router setup are you still using DMZ? If so then port forwarding is not necessary, the DMZ actually opens all your ports on that IP address listed in the DMZ. Also make sure that any software firewall is unchecked. And make sure that your Media Server Connection is set to "Disabled" in your Network Settings, it is at the bottom of the settings tab of the XMB.
I've been encountering this problem ever since the update came out. I was able to play fine and never experienced a problem with connecting until now. I have looked everywhere for possible explanations, but a lot of people are saying that the update seemed to "fix" everything, which is the opposite case with me.
I really don't know what to do, I guess it's just a waiting game from here on out
The servers are most likely loaded are having other issues. I have had games act-up in the past when playing on-line and sometimes if I log out and back in the problem goes away and sometimes I just have to wait until the next up-date.
