Anyone else want Google Apps?: Drive, Voice, and Gmail

33 replies 516 views Edited May 5, 2012

I would really like to see Google Drive, Voice, and Gmail on the Vita.

If you don't know what drive is, it replaces Google Docs storage and works like Dropbox once it is installed.

I also think Google Voice would be amazing, as well as the voice chat features with gmail. Voice would allow the PSV to literally be used as a phone, completely free of charge. Anyone else like/use Google Voice?

Add Google Maps to that and you have me hooked. A true, free GPS, would be awesome. I use Google Maps on my phone a lot and would love to have it on the Vitas bigger screen. Does the Vita actually have a GPS receiver built into it? Or is it just using the internet as a make shift hub?

Google Maps is already included as the application (1.60+)

PS Vita does contain a GPS receiver in the 3G/WiFi model.

Google Voice as a phone actually uses a phone's voice to make and answer calls.  It appears you are dialing from the GV app, but it turns around and dials your phone to place the call (I know this because when I used GV to call my wife once, my iphone number came up on the caller id, not my GV number).  Since the Vita doesn't actually have a phone, GV will not work in that capacity.

However, GV WOULD work as a SMS texting application, since it uses 3G/Wifi data to send and recieve texts to/from any cell number.

Google Drive would be cool, but I'd prefer Dropbox (as I use it almost every day to move documents from my iPad to my computer and vice versa).

Gmail would be great, too.

Any Google app would be awesome like Gmail, Blogger, Music (Especially this), or even Yout....

As far as email goes, I'd like just a generic Mail app, since I have both Gmail and iCloud addresses, and right now, I can't even view iCloud mail on the PS Vita.

I guess Gmail would be okay. Pretty much the only email I primarily use anyway.

Honestly? No. I couldn't care less about apps on my PSV; it's a handheld, not a smartphone. There's no added value on a console having Google Drive and Voice recognition. And as for gmail, we have an email app, that's more than enough~.
