The AMD Jaguar APU has dedicated video (as does the Cell BBE in the PS3), yes, but it will be 'enhanced' by a separate AMD Radeon 5650-ish GPU.  Both the APU and the GPU will share the 8GB GDDR5 RAM.

As for the WiiU:  It actually brought Nintendo gaming into THIS generation (PS3 / 360).  The Wii was still in the PS2 / XBox / GameCube era.  It was basically a GameCube with a nifty new controller system, which is why it was 100% sideways compatible with GC games.

In addition, Sony will not be using a standard AMD processor.  Yes, it is based heavily on the existing architecture of the AMD processor, but it will have its own custom aspects which will add to the cost to manufacture it.  The cost won't be near what it was when the Cell was being developed basically from the ground up, but there will be an additional cost to the manufacturing of their main processor.

Manufacture..I dont know. I do know they lose money on consoles, and that it wont be as expensive as the Ps3 initially was.

The guy at the Playstation Conference said that the 8GB GDDR5 is Unified (which means shared, and by shared it is integrated).

T

Unified does not equate to cpu-integrated. It simply means that the console has a single bank of memory which is shared between the processor (system) and the graphics.  Many computers have integrated graphics.  It does not mean the graphics chip is integrated with the processor, it simply means the graphics are integrated on the motherboard.

In the case of the PS4, the CPU/APU (Jaguar) and the GPU (Radeon) are separate components that share the same bank of memory.

The PS4 will likely start out in the $420-450 range.  As for manufacturing cost:  A standard 8-core AMD processor and system board will currently run you about $250.  An AMD Radeon 5650 costs about $200.  8GB of GDDR5 memory would cost about $200 if you could buy GDDR5 RAM separately.  Take off about 25% for OEM savings, and you're looking right about $500 just for the major components.  Add in the 6xBlu-ray, PSU, cooling and other components and you're up to about $600.

Do you think the PS4 will be more profitable than the PS3 overall?

Anywhere between $400 and $475 is a fair price for both Sony and consumers. $300 is just not happening.

The Xbox 720 costs $299 if you sign a two year contract at $15 a month so youre paying $660 total over two years

There is no reason that Sony cant likewise sell a $199 PS4 if you sign a two year contract at $15 a month so youre paying $560 total over two years
