aberrantfoto: Sorry, I kinda forgot that I made this post. Yeah, I have 6.20. I forgot all about the warranty on it. Did they send you a refurbished system? The same one? A brand new one?
samven582: yep. Mine doesn't taper off anywhere though. It makes a weird border around the outside of the screen.
My god I have the same issue. I've replaced it 7 times now and they all had the same problem but with different patterns. It seems like some kind of liquid. Which model do you own? 3000? If so, what color? All the ones I had trouble with were the GT Silver models.
PS it's not 6.20 specific, me and the customer service people opened like 5 silver PSPs together and they all had this problem (except one but it had a dead pixel).
ImOblivion, they sent me a refurb one and it has the same problem, so it's going back. They will probably send me another one that has the same problem, but we will see. I'll just keep sending them back until I get a good one. What a waste of time this has turned out to be. Maybe I should have just bought a black one!
My original one that had the problem was the silver ratchet and clank bundle. This refurb one they sent me is also a silver one. I asked the customer service rep if they could just send me a black one, but she said it's up the repair department/technicians.
I made my own thread about this before seeing yours, and somebody mentioned it might be cold liquid crystal (stuff LCD screens are made of). So I ran a color switching video for 6 hours, came back home, and it didn't fix it.
I have replaced 8 of those PSP 3000's now (through Best Buy and last one through EB Games) and they ALL had this in one form or another. I think all PSPs (at least 3000's have it). Some people probably just haven't noticed it or haven't looked hard enough. I doubt you could go through 8 bad systems in a row like I did.
again... but at least I got my data off it and deactivated my accounts.
