Can we please get this already? When I made my thing it was just to mess around with my real life friends and I used my email as my ID. I play a lot now and it gets annoying being called out 24/7 because a name. Xbox let my change it and PSN Japan lets you do it so why can't we?

Let me get this straight, you're getting mad at someone else for something you did? there have been some good arguments for adding the ability to change an ID. waa waa waa i messed up isnt one of them.

It's as simple as I pay as much for PS+ as XBL and it's sub par.

like i love ps+ and the free games but now it doesn't have those. it's just an online service. it's already been down on a few days since launch and has no name change or appear offline features. adequate service.

is 1,000 thread about changing psn ID not enough, we need another one? Answer is always gonna be NO. Sony lets you change your name. After a week, you come back and complain you dont like that new name and want to change it again. Its a never ending cycle. So lets just stop it.

MS lets you do it as much as you want and while it's $10, it's better than wasting a year of XBL and all my achievements. Why can't Sony do it?

Because the more ADD addled will run up a huge bill changing it every week, day or even hour, and the more "enterprising" out there will create names just to sell them. They give you ample warning that your name can't be changed. I'm sorry, but you should have put more thought into it. You can create a new name, and keep this one. One doesn't preclude the other.
