It has been revealed today that EA will be shutting down a handful of their sports games servers.
Games that will say goodbye to online play are as follows:
FIFA 11
NHL 11
Madden 11
NBA Live 10
NCAA 11
and
NBA Jam!
If this is offered to plus members tomorrow you may want to rethink the strategy there. That is kind of a **bleep** move on their part and it's probably all finalized for plus but I thought you should know!
My time travelling PS3 says it will be free to plus members tomorrow but who knows. ![]()

Of course everyone is going to **bleep** on here and the PS blog, but this has nothing to do with Sony, it's all on EA.
It is all on EA. Pretty shady if they finalized this without letting Sony know the shutdown was coming. If Sony did know, then shame on them I guess. ![]()

Or maybe that's why it's becoming free...EA went to Sony and was like, "Hey, we're shutting down our servers for NBA Jam, so if you want to include it as a IGC, go ahead"

OK they are shuting down the NBA Jam server not the NBA Jam On Fire Server. Two different games. Just so you know.
Unfortunately it looks like the PS3 and the 360 versions are the only ones getting shut down. I guess the Wii is staying up? Say wha?!...
