I tried hooking up my laptop through the same internet jack and the internet works just fine.

Can anyone tell me what the error means? Or do I have to wait for the Playstation people to e-mail me back

Try to make an other connection that has on security on it (scan).

Ok, if your university is anything like mine, here's what's going on.

Your error is coming from the fact that the university has a program on their internet that works a lot like a firewall, preventing people from accessing the internet in certain ways. It's mostly used to block things like child pornography or so they can trace back who accidentally let that Win32 virus onto their system.

I just had this error. To fix it, I went ALL the way over to Network and opened up a web browser.  The program's login-screen came up, which I promptly logged into. The error was fixed instantly.

Go check your internet browser. If you have this problem where you've got an IP but no internet connection, I almost guarentee the issue is something like this.
