You can read about people's experience with Endless Electronics in this thread, it is a long thread but Endless Electronics is mentioned in the last 10 pages or so...
In Columbus Ohio i called expert ps3 repairs to fix my playstation, they reflowed my motherboard after getting YLOD, it works fine now, very happy that the price was fair and it was same day service, they even pick up and returned my video game console, same day i first called, yellow light of death sucks, they told me they will start a reball service in a couple of weeks, a more permanent fix is better.
Definitely go with Endless Electronics, I messaged them twice about questions I had and they replied very fast, with great descriptive answers on their methods. I suggested sending mine in to get new solder before mine breaks and they didn't recommend it, which suggests they arn't trying to simply get my money. DO NOT go back to Sony, they will not fix the issue. All they will do is send you another refurb and a 90 day warranty. Same crap thermal paste, same lead-free solder, and if they system already suffered YLOD (you'd have no way of knowing if you get back someone else's system) it is much more likely to break.
I agree, dont go with sony. All they do is give you a console that will last out the 90 day warrenty they give you and then it will just mess up again. There are plenty of options out there other than what sony is offering.
My 60GB PS3 got YLOD and after searching for a while I ended up with Endless Electronic guys. All I can say is that their services are awesome, they replied to all my questions when I had doubts and they keep me updated as often as they could. Took like 2 weeks, but it was worth it.
I went for Reballing, because I wanted a semi-permanent solution. Also because I went to a local place for reflow and it didn't work.
So the guys at EE reballed my PS3 and it was a success, my PS3 is like new and no problems after 2 months.
My cousin didn't had that much luck, shortly after I recieved my PS3, his 80GB refurbished Gamestop PS3 YLOD and I recommended him EE. Unfortunately the refurbished PS3s at Gamestop do a horrible job at reflowing that it end up messing most of the other components. They tried to fix it but they couldn't, they return the money and offer to buy him his PS3. My cousin obliged and with his repair money and the extra 50 bux, he got a new PS3. So it was a win win for him in the end.
But before you send it, read the instructions and send all the info they ask you, to avoid delays on your repair.
So my recommendation is that don't buy refurbished PS3s and if your PS3 just YLOD send it directly to the EndlessElectronics guys. Don't try to reflow it yourself or give it to other people, it's better to spend a bit more of money on Reballing and get the job well done. And if your PS3 has any more problems, they will report it to you and ask you if you want it repaired or not. In my cased my PS3 Blu-ray was close to dying and they suggested the replacement. I could defenitely believe that since my 60GB PS3 was a launch model.
Anyways, this is my experience with EE, I highly recommend them to at least Email them and then you can decide. Good luck on your PS3 repairs!
I went to Expert PS3 Repair also in Columbus Ohio and my PS3 got the YLOD again 3 weeks later. They would not fix angina in, they said I should buy a NEW PS3! they would not refund my money. THEY SUCK!
