I was extremely dissapointed with some "next gen" developers stating that their games will be capped at 30 FPS 1080P. That is not acceptable and should not be rewarded by gamers. It should be 60FPS with 1080P or at least 720P. It has been close to 9 years since the PS3 launch and we are still stuck at 30FPS ?!?!
Call of Duty and Resistance were 60FPS with decent visuals. Graphics for games such as Killzone 3 and Battlefield 3 was good, but jerky animation and choppy framerate was annoying. I cannot belive devs still cannot get 60 FPS 1080P with 8GB DDR5 Rams. Are you kidding me !
What gamerdom refers to as "frames per second" is actually the rate at which the image is refreshed, which is measured in hz.
The obsession over 60 frames per second is a bit of a contradiction. There are those who swear they can tell the difference between 30 and 60, however the point at which the human brain can distinguish the difference is actually 24 frames per second, or to 1/100 of a second, which is how film time coding is measured. This is has been the standard for nearly 80 years in the motion picture industry. Virtually every motion picture with the exception of The Hobbit, has been shot at 24 frames per second. High speed cameras will show more detail when you slow the image down to 24 frames per second, a techique most often used in automobile crash testing.
By the way, don't ever buy a Chinese car.
Many gamers may dispute this, however it has been scientifically proven. Anyway, the whole thing about 60 vs. 30 frames per second is a bit of a waste of time. Especially if you can't tell the difference between the two.
Glad someone knows how to use Google *sarcasm*
Its a lot better than voicing an opinion and trying to pass it off as fact.
Left is 60fps

However, I don't think high framerates are the most important. Framerate **stability** is the most important in my opinion because it's jarring for some people to have the framerate jump and dip during play.
60fps? Make sure it stays locked to that. 30fps? Again, don't let it dip below that.
