Re: 30, or 60 Frames Per Second, who cares?

Apr 7, 2014

All of that doesn't matter if the game runs like crap. Granted most games will run at least at 30 (only most). I care because I can deal with 30 fps, I just prefer 60 because if their are any drops I probbly won't notice it as much. I like fluidity as do all gamers.

If you have 60 FPS and get frame drops then it'll be around 45FPS. With last gen consoles the frame drops would be around 15-25FPS which was obviously an issue. Smoother looking games is what any gamer should look for. But to answer the question, you and everyone else should care.

I was born in the 80's, and I hope that the shooting, racing and sports games will be in 60fps

I agree that it shouldn't be so overlooked. But if I had to choice between 60 FPS or 1080p....... I would definitely choose 60 FPS for the smoothness Smiley Wink

I started gaming in 1990 with the first ff game. Graphics are minor to me as well, but after 24 years of gaming, if I'm able to get a better looking game that has the same content, then I'll take that over the worse looking one. This is why I am really proud of Nintendo right now for their effort on the new Mario Kart. That thing's running 1080p and 60fps on wii-u with nothing dumbed down to compensate for inadequacies of hardware (looking at you Forza 5 with your 1080p cars and original xbox quality backgrounds just to claim 1080p and 60fps when it really isn't).

Graphics are nice. Gameplay, storyline, character development, and functionality are so much more important to me than graphics.

Fun factor is also extremely important along with a sense of fantasy. I don't play games to have them be real. I play games for the adventures, stories, and for them to be fake. If they remade Battle Toads on today's consoles it would be amazing and I would spend $60 for that game all over again.

I guess you don't care about Blu Rays and image quality since you watched VHS back in the 90's, right grandpa?

*sigh*
