2001 and 3001 screen

1 replies 131 views Edited Feb 1, 2013

I  have a Daxter bundle silver 2001. I just bought a brand new 3001 piano black. The 3001 has the extended color option but over all it looks like crap compared to the 2001. All the greens seem lime green and I get banding and very small scan lines. There is much more vivid color saturation but it looks funky. Im wondering if its a faulty screen. I hate to send it in just to have it looked at. You know the old saying if its not broke dont fix it, and sometimes they break something else.

Does anyone own both have any experience with the 3001 looking like a bad LCD TV? The colors are just wrong.

Re: 2001 and 3001 screen

I just upgraded to a PSP 3000 from a 1000 and the first thing I noticed was when the screen was showing darker images, the top and right edge of the 3000's screen had brighter sections than the rest of the screen. I don't know if that was how the new screens were designed or if it was bad unit that I had. I did notice scan lines, but after doing some research over time, I found that the scan lines are the result of improving the image quality with better colors and faster response time. Scan lines are perfectly normal, as that is how the screen was designed. I could tell a huge difference on the color between the 1000 and 3000, with the 3000 showing better color. If anyone else is having issues with their 3000 screens, let us know.
