1st gen ps3 value?

2 replies 568 views Edited Apr 8, 2012

hey guys i have a first gen ps3 (the big fat one) and its a 20gb with a 250gb hard drive installed.  i hear they are rare and that they are worth more becasue they are backwards compatable.

1 how much is it woth as is with very minor scratches?

2 can i get more by putting the 20gb hard drive back in it?

If you sell the system to a retailer, they won't give you much.  You might be able to find a desperate buyer who really wants the old PS3.  You'd be better off including the 250GB HDD, because a buyer will notice right away that it has been upgraded.  Since you do have that HDD in there, you might be able to sell it for around $200.  I can't imagine you would get more.  People can buy a BRAND NEW PS3 at a store with a 320GB HDD for only $300.  I doubt you can sell it for more than $250, but I think you can get at least $200.

Good luck to you.
