Those would be a cool little extra feature, but I'd prefer PSN avatars because the current one I have is getting a little old. The one thing I don't like about PSN is not being able to upload your own avatar..

In regards to the unlocking mechanic. I think we will have the first 6-8 characters that have been revealed unlocked automatically. However, I'd like the rest who have yet to be announced, to be unlocked after playing the game for a certain amount of time, or doing certain challenges. Nothing intense since that would put people off, but at least enjoyable and rewarding.

The unlocks however should mostly stick to characters, or perhaps skins. I don't think maps would work out well, would end up dividing portions of the community at certain times of the games release. People who get the game right away won't be able to game with a friend who just gets the game on a certain level, that sort of thing. So focusing on it being characters which this game is honestly all about, is the best viable option.

I'd lose a lot of my drive to game if I have every single character unlocked, or most of, right away.

thank you i agree completely. like i said earlier since the stories are indivual then maybe you will have to beat someone's story to unlock a characters story. by doing this you then have to beat that story you just unlocked to unlock the character. but i still want there to be unlockable characters regardless.
