The beta is publicly released starting with Plus members. Next week the beta will be open to everyone else. How is that not "public," or in this case information that's open to the world at large?
Comparatively, a private beta would only be open to a select number of people. The information will also be confidential as per the event happening, so you can tell there's a difference between the two.
