I think we should stop whining about bits and pieces of content and enjoy the video game. It's how games are made now, and you better get used to it or you are in for loads of whiny rants as time goes on.

for me, incomplete = glitchy, broken and unplayable,

if it's content, i never cared about what's on disc and what's not...

there is no whining, itsjust common sense you should get your full working product on day 1 and not be nickle and dimed

EXAMPLE: you buy a $30 steak dinner that comes with shrimp and fries, when you get the meal theres only a steak your like W  T  F?, the waiter says you have to pay $10 extra for the shrimp and $10 for the fries, makes no since right.

Mhm, and I recall not noticing the lack of the two sequences until seeing them on the store. I also recall purhcasing them, playing through them and feeling unaffected (granted - they were awesome for the simple fact that they were more AC2) as they didn't add to the main story significantly. I wouldn't use that as an example really, incomplete would be skipping sequences and feeling forced to purchase them to understand what the hells going on. The game was lenghty without them anyways, I agree it was a questionable move, but I wouldn't say the game was incomplete because of it and I definitely wouldn't go as far as waiting an extra year for a GOTY edition for it.

Once again, the addition of DLC doesn't make a game incomplete. It's more like having the meal arrive, and being asked offered desert after. It's a sweet addition, but in no way compulsory.

^seeing that you have "93" in your name meant you were 5 when expansion packs were the options, so really you have no right to even use "back in the day".

also, do you even know how expansion packs worked? it is exactly what they were: they expanded the experience. Yuri's Revenge for Red Alert came with new maps, a new storyline, new vehicles, new buildings, new weapons, new characters, new campaigns (7 missions each for the 2 factions, so 14 total), it expanded on the core gameplay adding new gameplay features and mechanics, etc.

that's something i'd pay $30 for. and you know they developed it after they made the game because it came out months after the game's release.

today, they develop content alongside the game, then sell it to us in increments within the next year or so. most games today have $40 worth of DLCs just by adding a couple of missions and some characters and maps. that's it. core gameplay is still the same, they didn't expand on the experience, rather they take out things that are available on launch date, then slowly sell them to gullible consumers within a month, 2 months, 3 months. and some even just sell you an unlock code of content already on the disc.

expansion packs =/= dlcs. learn the difference.
