I found out his guns are only useful because you can cancel square attacks into them, and triangle attacks cancel in to circle attacks.

no they don't they just basically bing off them as they use their super

I would say their best use is for comboing to circle attacks and catching people in his level 3.

Yes only use them to extend you combos thats it.....it causes no hitstun so trying to shoot somebody is pointless.
