Why didn't PSASBR reach expectations?

As good a game as it is, it didn't do as well as Sony or SuperBot expected.

Discuss.

Ultimately they released the game too soon. Kat and Emmett should have been apart of the original cast.

Mucho bugs and mucho Mas dinero to fix said bugs and balance. Not that it couldn't and SB didn't want to do it.

Crappy handling of the product. Seriously, was not impressed with zuez at all ( still bought him though) way too many other bad arse deserving big brawlers.

The game already had and has a competitive scene.. With some fixes and more attention to detail I don't see why it can't stand out more as a respected fighting game.

I could go on, but **bleep** I'm still having fun with this hot mess of a game.

The main reasons are the lack of content and marketing

Sony didn't put in enough effort and expected a new team to make everything work. The game plays fine but the source material wasn't as strong as it should have been.
Limited marketing and lack of content is what tge lack of official support led to.
The roster is not worth complaining about at this point, as there's more than one character for everyone.
It's the lack of Sony's official support that led to "unreached expectations".
I assume that they will learn from their mistake rather than just sweep it under their rug. They know they have a potential IP now

They blew off the competitive scene.

Another reason would be the wrong people not passing concept art stage -cough- Dart -cough-.

Let's be honest, Dart may deserve to be in the game but he's very obscure and would've done little too help sales.

1. Too small roster size for a full priced game. Don't give me lame excuses like "oh it was superbot's first game cut them some slack". I'll cut them slack if they had cut the price down.

2. Worst marketing I've ever seen. If you go and find the posts that several people made including myself about how the game had next to no marketing whatsoever you'll know the facts. Remember it was not just the US. In the UK and German store for instance, it wasn't even easy prominent on PSN until after the launch.

3. In Sony, the number of hardcore/competitive gamers are more than Nintendo. Pure party brawlers just don't work like they do with Nintendo where everyone from your 5 year old nephew plays it.

IMO, I don't think the marketing was the downfall. People just didn't really give a **bleep**.
