Which is more important?

Characters or Gameplay? I ask this because someone in a previous post said they'd rather watch the game die than see it ruined by "mediocre characters." So I ask, what would truly turn this game around right now and improve sales, in your opinion of course,

1. Adding in ALL(not realistic butjust for the sake of argument) the characters people want.

2. Completely revamping gameplay so that it is as balanced as possible, reasonable AP gain for all characters, system to reduce spamming, and minimal glitches/bugs.

Alright community, you can only choose 1 so let's hear what you think would truly "fix" this game from the position it is in presently. Because it seems like everyone believes adding in this or that character will suddenly make the game 100 times better than it is right now.

That's not the point of this. The point is to see which is more important to the community here, having their favorite character or having good gameplay. I ask this because some people make it seem like if they add in -insert character here- that the game will suddenly become 100 times better.

Seeing some new characters is always cool, but new characters will never make spammers, rage quitters, and glitches go away or lessen in severity. I'm definitely for fixing the game before adding in a plethora of new characters, especially since those new ones could bring in their own problems to worry about.

Gameplay of course. This is a friggin' fighting game, so balance and fixing bugs should be top priority. That, and host migration.

Adding Crash, Spyro, Cloud, or Sora isn't going to save this game.

Gameplay is definately more important in my personal opinion, it's the same argument as graphics vs. gameplay, you can have a game with the best graphics in the generation but it means absolutely nothing if the game plays like crap, same thing applies here, you can have all the characters you want but if the game plays like crap it means nothing.

lol at the system to reduce spamming.. no there should be no such system. When it is properly balanced then spamming wont be an issue

Tsukihime

PhotobucketMy Ps3 died Friday, May 30, 2008.

Sony has now taken the life of three ps3's in the household...Failure rate = 90%. The 4th probably doesn't have much time left. Poor thing has a maximum of no more than 2-3 months to live

That's not true at all. Even if all the moves were perfectly balanced. What's to stop a character from just utilizing the "best" move that particular character has over and over again? Spamming is simply using the same move over and over, balance does not stop them from doing that.
