Lara as an alt for Drake doesn't fit and she does fit given her history on the PS1. I do agree though that they could stand to dig a bit into their female roster: Ellen (Folklore), Selvaria or Alicia (Valkyria Chronicles), Kat (Gravity Daze/Rush), Nariko (Heavenly Sword), Aveline (Assassin's Creed III: Liberation; may as well be an alt for Ezio as I figure he'd be the front running representative for the franchise), Rose (Legend of Dragoon), Karin (Shadow Hearts Covenant), etc.. I do wish overall, they'd do a good job of representing some smaller series.
They most certainly need to do something about the female ratio in regards to all of the male characters. The ones you mentioned are prime examples of who could be in the game. However only time will tell. Omar said he only knew of one other female character, around E3. So...probably end up with 2-4 in total. And hopefully Lightning isn't one of them. I think 4-5 would be a nice fit to the game.
