What's your video capture solution?

7 replies 121 views Edited Jan 14, 2013

This is directed at those of you who post videos of your gameplay. What hardware are you using to capture video? Most of it looks like it's in HD, so I would assume it's HDMI or component equipment. I know of a few solutions, but they are all pretty expensive. I'd like to get some input from you guys on this.

I use this right here.

Records in 1080p, and it's pretty handy. Dunno what else to say about it really. It comes with a free video editor, but that just sucks to be honest. :smileytongue:

PS3 can't be recorded with HDMI. As a result, component cables are used instead.

Never say never. I just found an HDCP stripper on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HD-Converter-CVBS-AV-to-HDMI-HDCP-Decode-720-1080P-Black-/271050937548?pt=US...

It has HDMI support, in a sense. It plugs into the TV via an HDMI and to the PS3 via an included cable.

I actually got one of those for Christmas. It's pretty cool, except for two things (for me, at least). 1.) There is some lag time in between the game recorder and my TV and it causes my TV to go blank every so often whenever I use the game recorder and 2.) I have published two videos onto YouTube and the quality is rather poor in comparison to whenever I play the videos on Windows Media Player. The quality is way better on there. I believe that it's just the 22" Emerson TV that I own that is causing the problem.
