wouldnt explain the stage mashups. im guessing tehy will go with the generic way and say a rift opened up making all these worlds start colliding.

Its all a set up! Its like Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of the Patriots combined with Aperature. They're trying to re-create an event to make something happen, but your incentive is doing it in order to get a false prize like the cake. Its not really happening, ITS JUST V-R TRAINING WITH FAKE CAKE AT THE END!!
