Re: What if Brawl followed the "One character per franshise" Rule?

One other thing I noticed is that a lot of the characters in Smash from the same franchise (i.e Mario & Luigi) have always done the SAME EXACT THING in their respective franchises.

Mario and Luigi, for the most part, have had the same function in Mario games; plumbers who just run & jump. Different character, same function.

Yet Mario & Luigi have completely different movesets in Smash.

So the same can be applied to two similar characters from the same Playstation franchise. Chloe Fraiser & Drake may seem the same on the surface but they can be tweaked to have different movesets. And heck, if those two can work, Lara Croft & Drake in the same game can definitely work.

I don't see why they did it like this. The only reason I can guess is so they could make a squeal with a greatly expanded roster. I would love seeing Zeus.

@IceColdKilla On the flip side they also have characters from completely different games with the same moveset (Ganondorf and Captain Falcon :L)

Well that's intentional design. Anyone who has played F-Zero and Zelda know that Falcon and Ganondorf are very different. Only reason their movesets are similar is because Nintendo made it that way.
