So, what if brawl only had one playable character per franchise like all-stars? see here's the thing, throughout my past few months of internet browsing, I've heard some Nintendo fans saying things like: "Playstation All-stars could never have a complete roster, because sony doesn't have any good franchises!" and yadda yadda yadda, but then I'd think: "well, actually, they could easily fill the roster by adding more than one character from a single franchise, just like smash brothers does." You know, like sap-drinking lazaravic from uncharted, or qwark from ratchet and clank, heck, even daxter could run around with his bug killing gear from daxter on the psp. So then I started to think about how big the roster would be for a smash brothers game like brawl if there was only one character per franchise. As a result, I made this list of characters for brawl if such a rule were in affect. Obviously, characters like donkey kong and wario are distinct enough in there games from the mario franchise to be unique characters.

I see this list as a good way to counteract anyone who believes the roster couldn't be filled due to a lack of franchises on sony's consoles. As you can see, it'd be easy for playstation all stars to have a huge roster. sony however, used a restricting method, adding only one character per franchise. Nintendo could've done the same thing, and ended up with a somewhat "lacking" roster aswell. The list is also a good way to show nintendo fans that there are just about as many franchises on playstation then nintendo consoles.
This list definatley isn't implying that adding more than one character per franchise in a game like this is a bad thing, in fact, I actually encourage developers to do so, as I think it adds more diversity and to a roster. I just wanted to make a point to nintendo fans who think a game like this could never have a complete roster.

Technically he is part of the Mario franchise. He gets his own game once in a blue moon, but he originated in Super Mario World.
Well I just meant going strictly by SSB's faction/series/whatever since this is about Brawl, Yoshi is given one of his one. I understand what you mean, though.
Of course maybe if I actually took the time to read your whole post I'd understand the placement. Whoopsie.
