Very sad and disappointing: Roster disaster

145 replies 1032 views Edited Dec 21, 2012

Not only does this game only come with 20 characters out of the box and post launch characters that are added seem to be paid DLC after the first two weeks of release, but a lot characters that are very important to PlayStation aren't in this game yet but characters that are not important to PlayStation at all, like Big Daddy just to name one, are in this game and the characters that some people on these forums want added post launch are more completely unimportant character to PlayStation, like an AC or Mortal Kombat character.

This game isn't PLAYSTATION All Stars Battle Royale, it's Video Game All Stars Battle Royale and if this game keeps getting characters that aren't important to PlayStation instead of characters that are very important to PlayStation, like Crash, Spyro, Snake, Lara, Robbit, Alundra, Dart, just to name a FEW, it will continue to be that way and only get worse.

Myself, like many others, are very disappointed and upset over the game's roster and what the future looks like with the next characters being Kat and Emmet which aren't even top 30 important characters to PlayStation.

I don't see anything wrong with that in a first game.

Being the first game is no excuse. I'm pretty sure this game was in development for at least three years, not only that but it's a first party game and it's extremely huge and important for Sony and PlayStation because it's SUPPOSE to be a celebration of PlayStation (which sadly, currently it is not) on top of that, they have the power of the PlayStation 3 and all three Smash Bros. games that came eay before it to look it and learn from. A game that came out 11 years ago on a 6th gen console that came out 11 years ago has more characters than a game that is on the powerful PlayStation 3 and released in 2012. There's absolutely no excuse.

On top of that, not including characters that are very important to PlayStation like they're suppose to and instead including characters that are not important to PlayStation at all and almost have no importance or post launch characters that being characters that are very important to PlayStation, has nothing to do whether it's a first game or not.

qq Yet another close minded crash-spyro-cloud fanboy who has no idea of how things work with regrda to getting 3rd party characters.

Yes they are important characters but obvious very difficult to obtain. You think superbot deliberately left out those characters? If they were easy to get they would have added them before the game launch.

Spoiled? how so, all he/she did, just like me and many fans, especially the ones that know about PlayStation since PlayStation 1, are just stating the fact that this game's roster is extremely disappointing. Has nothing to do with spoiled or entitled or any of the other nonsense the gamers that defend and care more about video games and video game companies say.

I'm actually very satisfied with the roster. Was extremely happy when I heard Nariko made the cut. Looking forward to the additional characters.

You newcomers this generation have it good when it comes to fighting game back where there was no such things as dlc you had to deal with a small roster so don't be spoiled you are lucky kat and emmet are free for 2 weeks.

He never mentioned Cloud and nowhere in his post does it say or makes it seem like he's a fanboy of any of those characters, don't assume. Also, the very important characters to PlayStation that are yet to be in this game are not all third party, just some, there's a big amount of FIRST party characters that are important to PlayStation that are not in this game or announced yet.

First party characters aren't difficult to obtain because they are owned by Sony, there is no excuse. And since there are many first party characters that are important to PlayStation that aren't in the game yet or announced, and characters that aren't important to PlayStation are, it would make it seem like those characters weren't added on purpose, since again, there's no excuse for important first party characters to not be in the game.
