Ultimate Moveset Combination

[ Edited ]
15 replies 210 views Edited Dec 31, 2012

WILL CHANGE THIS THREAD PERIODICALLY BASED ON COMMENTS BELOW

Previous choice by me (12/30/12)

Current choice by me (TBD)

Votes for others by those in this thread (All differ from mine)

Since I'm bored, I decided to think about, "Which character has the best attack on each individual button input?" AND, SO, THIS THREAD WAS TYPED. In other words, how could you make the ultimate character taking everyone's moves from this game?

The factors I used for this were AP gain, how situation-dependent it is, crumpling, knockback, stunning, start-up/cool-down/recovery time, and AOE.

Square

Neutral - Sly 1 Vote Kratos, 1 Vote Fat Princess

Side - Kratos 1 Vote Big Daddy

Down - Sackboy 1 Vote Jak

Up - Ratchet 3 Votes Spike

Triangle

Neutral - Drake 1 Vote Sir Daniel

Side - Jak 1 Vote Radec

Down - Sweet Tooth 1 Vote Big Daddy

Up - Evil Cole

Circle

Neutral - Evil Cole 1 Vote Sly, 1 Vote Sir Daniel

Up - Good Cole

Others

Grapple - Raiden

Level 1 - Sly

Level 2 - Parappa

Not enough slots for everyone, and even if there was, I wouldn't go out of my way to pick a certain character just because. That being said, neither Spike nor Radec has a big powerhouse move in comparison to others, they're more balanced. I really don't think Radec's sniper is as good as everyone makes it out to be, tbh, but you could prove me wrong. I also thought about the monkey radar being the down-circle, but I would be kidding myself to give that to him over Jak. EDIT: His Up-Square is good, though, as I note later in the post.

Care to explain why? Those both seem like 4-5 kills in FFA from what I've seen compared to 6 and AP from Sackboy.

I actually had this one there at first, but if you're not in the radius it's very punishable by any self-respecting ranged attack... unless you can cancel it once you start mashing, which I haven't tried. Let me know if you know about this.

I neeearly put this on, but I think Ratchet's up-square deflects projectiles and that's the winner to me personally. Definetely a close 2nd.

You guys all still are included in the vote portion of the OP, so keep the suggestions coming.

Square - Kratos' square attack is quite powerful and can send enemies flying.

Side-Square - Kratos, for obvious reasons. It tracks well and is great for setting up combos, although it's an unfair move.

Down-Square - Jak & Daxter. If I remember correctly, this move temporarily suspends enemies in the air for a short time allowing you to follow into a combo.

I definitely believe that Spike should be placed as the best for Up+Square. It's a very punishable attack and can knock the enemy across the screen if utilized properly.

Level 1 should be Sly, as you mentioned. Murray has such a large radius that it's almost impossible to avoid.

Level 2 super should definitely be Parappa, like you said. His skateboard requires nothing more than to touch the other players and it lasts for a good time.

Nariko has the best level 3. I mean, come on. Her attacks have such a large radius and they track the other players so it's impossible to avoid.

I'll edit this tomorrow and add the triangle and circle moves.

Is the reason you took Slys neutral square because it can steal AP? I think it's rather weak besides that. I'd take his neutral circle over it. Although your pick with evil Cole is probably better. It comes to preference between offense and defense
