you can never have to many characters as long as they are all well known characters

Re: To Much To Little

Jul 29, 2012

Never heard someone say there's such thing as too many characters until now. If we're talking about "on disc" characters, I'd say 32 characters atleast, I'm not paying for new characters all year just to get some diversity. Take into account any decent fighting game needs a good amount of females, and so far we have...1, also take into account any decent fighting game needs a good amount of badguys, and so far we have... 2 maybe 3, and realistically, neither Radec or Heihachi are really seen as bad guy in any impactful way, Niether is Big Daddy for that matter, basically neither one of those guys are Bowser-esque

These are the most necessary must have in game characters

Drake

Parappa

F.Princess

B. Daddy

Cole

Sly

Radec

Sweettooth

Kratos

Heihachi

Toro

JAK

Sackboy

Crash

Spyro

Spike

Lara Croft

Cloud

Sora

Snake

Wander

Lightning

Sephiroth

Resistance character

Ratchet and Clank

Nariko

Kat

Journey Character

CoCo Bandicoot

Sir Daniel Forteque

DArk Cloud Character

THAT'S 31 ALREADY

THESE ARE CHARACTERS THAT SHOULD BE IN THE GAME

Valkyria Chronicles character

Chell(Portal)

Elena Fisher

Bayonetta

Alice Madness Returns

Commander Shepard

Agent Rayne(Blood Rayne)

Specter (Ape escape)

Isaac(Dead Space)

Folklore Character

Ico

The Boss

Nix (Infamous)

Gordon Freeman

Demon Souls character

The most important characters from a sales standpoint:

Crash and Spyro are the most casual.

Cloud/ Sephiroth attracts the RPG crowd

Sora Seems to be exteremely popular

Commander Shepard to attract a little Xbox Crowd

Snake a big hardcore favorite

Gordon/Chell PC crowd

Lara Croft(plus other females) to include female presence, plus very recognizable

I don't understand why anyone would want 50 something characters in a fighting game when its the first game, I agree with everyone else your expecting too much. And if there were 50 characters how much of them would you even use? I just dont understand people..

I know this has nothing to do with this forum but how do I get one of those quotes that shows up at the bottom of your posts?

Re: To Much To Little

Jul 29, 2012

~25 + DLC characters is fine for the first game.  It's a decent sized roster for them to balance and they need to keep things in mind for the sequel as far as characters go.  Bring back the 25+ characters in a sequel and since for the most part, the bulk of their work is done (and tweaked through patches), they can put most of the muscle behind new characters and simply bringing the past ones up to speed instead of worrying about doing some 40+ odd ones in the first installment.  The sequel could easily push the tail end of 40 characters but that's being optimistic on my part.

I think it would be nice at the very least if they had the courtesy to give the 'niche' games DLC packs for the game so those niche characters can make it into the games at least and the more vocal crowds aren't bummed out on slots going to lesser known characters in the initial roster.  But that can go either way.  It can go the aforementioned way but at the same time, it'd be showing Sony recognizes these smaller franchises so...yeah.

You mean a 'signature'?  Go to 'My Settings' in the top right corner.
